SEWP is a Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) consisting of twenty-two contracts, including eleven small business contracts.
The contracts awarded in 2007 were called SEWP IV. The follow-on is referred to as "SEWP V."
SEWP contains two categories of Information Technology: Category A which is centered around computer workstations and servers; Category B which is centered around a variety of IT peripherals, software and supporting equipment.
The SEWP procurement includes major components -
Category A comprised of 5 classes of Computer Systems in a full and open competition as follows: Class 1-Mass Storage Servers, Class 2-Database Servers, Class 3-Visualization, Class 4-High Performance Compute Servers, and Class 5-Science and Engineering General Services....
